This 40 minute documentary is a tribute to the life and work of Pete Postlethwaite with contributions from Barry Norman and Michael Coveney, the film includes extracts form many of his films including ‘Distant Voices, Still Lives’; ‘In the Name of the Father’; ‘Brassed Off’; ‘The Usual Suspects’; ‘Romeo + Juliet’; ‘Amistad’; ‘Jurassic Park’; ‘The Constant Gardener’; ‘Inception’ and ‘The Age of Stupid’.

Following the documentary, Michael Coveney discusses the career of Pete Postlethwaite on stage and screen, celebrating the career of an actor whose guiding principle was an almost intemperate honesty and whose death prompted an unexpected outpouring of public affection. Why did this happen, and what chords had Postlethwaite struck?
Coveney will make references to many of the above films contained in the documentary. Michael Coveney is currently chief critic of Whatsonstage.com, having been editor of Plays and Players and staff theatre critic on, successively, the Financial Times, the Observer and the Daily Mail. His books include critical biographies of Maggie Smith, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mike Leigh and Ken Campbell.
