Baz Luhrmann Talk
Baz Luhrmann: Before Australia

It has been seven years since Baz Luhrmann’s last feature film, Moulin Rouge hit our screens. In this talk, Ellen Cheshire will cover Luhrmann’s career to date from actor to opera director to film director.

Featuring examples from his films, Strictly Ballroom, Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge, his operas La Bohème and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to his number one hit record Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) – this will be a toe-tapping Christmas treat to remind ourselves of the exciting vision of this great director.

His latest film, Australia, is showing at the Cinema from 27 December.

Tickets £4.50 (FREE for Friends)

Ellen Cheshire has published books in Pocket Essentials series on The Coen Brothers, Ang Lee, Jane Campion and Audrey Hepburn. She is currently writing a book on Bio-pics for Wallflower Press and contributing to a book on War Movies for Ian Allen Publishing.
