A tragic-comic fable set in the Middle-East, by ‘Caramel’ director Nadine Labaski.
The film unfolds in a remote, isolated Lebanese village surrounded by landmines, which is populated by both Muslims and Christians.
As civil strife engulfs the country, the women in the village who are aware of this, attempt to keep the news from their husbands by sabotaging all radios and the only TV.
It is a powerful meditation on the fruitlessness of war from the acclaimed director of ‘Caramel’. (subtitles)
