Breakfast With Scot
CHICHESTER INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

A 22nd London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival Tour Presentation

Sam and his lover Ed are in a long-term relationship and living together. Sam is a former professional ice-hockey player whose career as a television sports commentator is threatened by the sudden appearance of Ed’s sissy nephew. Scot is not like most 11 year olds, his love of flamboyant clothes and a preference for musicals above sport is a challenge to a macho, sports-loving household. With the death of his mother, Scot finds a temporary home with his uncle Ed, but his effeminate antics provoke difficulties wherever he goes.

This is a clever and well-made film which raises a host of issues about prejudice and how to raise children who want to be different. Noah Bernett turns in a terrific performance as Scot, and his refusal to compromise will raise a cheer from anyone who has had to fight for acceptance.
